Projects

Friends of the Lime Works has an ambitious list of planned projects. Come put your interests and talents to work!

  • Stabilize and weatherproof the Cooperage, assist in planning for restoration and future reuse, possibly as a Visitor Center
  • Rehabilitate and restore the Hay Barn for future storage and carpentry work space
  • Reconstruct the Cardiff Shed for storage use
  • Restore at least two of the Workers' Cabins and furnish as interpretive displays
  • Design and install interpretive signs throughout the historic district
  • Publish walking tour brochure for historic features on the upper campus
  • Develop walking tour and living history docent program
  • Collaborate with academic departments at UCSC, Cabrillo College, Foothill College on historic and archaeological research for the historic district
  • Develop and distribute curriculum materials focused on the district for public school use
